Dunfield Terrace Drop Shaft is a 26m deep shaft, located in the Fountain Hill area of Derry City. The pipes that are being replaced have been in service since 1963 conveying wastewater from the Waterside/Fountain Hill to Victoria Road Gravity Sewer for over 60 years.
The scope of works for Dunfield included confined space & specialist rope access for pipework replacement – 3nr 26m x 250dia Stainless Steel pipes & fittings, design & construction of new cantilevered cover slab and specialist access cover with 3.7m x 2.6m clear opening, blockage removal & tankering @circa 30m depth, flow control management & diversion, access ladder & metalwork modification, fence modification & site finishes.
