Belfast Lough Bangor

The works are located near the Outer Ards ASSI (Area of Special Scientific Interest) and SPA (Special Protection Area).

The project comprised the design, construction, testing and commissioning of all permanent and temporary works necessary to complete the works. The scope of the works involved the provision of two new wastewater pumping stations, 240m3 of storage at Stricklands Glen and also 2170m3 of storage at Brompton Road, constructed by shaft sinking methods. A new pumping main was installed along the coastal path. The scheme was necessary to ease out of sewer flooding on Brompton Road and excessive spills into Belfast Lough from both pumping stations.
