Base Maintenance

BSG have been involved in the maintenance of Treatment facilities since 2004.

The role includes the identification, inspection, design, procurement and installation of all elements of parts of various clean and dirty water treatment sites. The exceptional performance on the schemes has resulted in repeat contracts on schemes ranging from £10k to £500k. BSG have built up extensive expertise in the phasing of the schemes while achieving continued compliance and ensuring continued access for the operating authority.

Capital Maintenance

Value: £2.2m

This contract delivered under NEC Option A, was the construction, refurbishment or upgrade of 28 Nr WwTWs throughout the Northern Ireland Water Service Divisions. The work varied and included Screw pump installations, pump replacement, concrete repairs, pipe work, sludge storage, washwater provision, flow recirculation and flow measurement, control panel replacements and telemetry upgrades. Health & Safety provisions included improved security arrangements, flooring and hand railing replacement, lifting equipment installation, task lighting provision and access path repair.​

Greenisland

Value: £0.56m

This scheme involved the civil and M&E base maintenance improvements to the existing WwTW including:

  • Provide air break tanks etc
  • Testing of davits / davit sockets
  • Plc robustness checks
  • Telemetry validation
  • Replace or repair valves/pipework/ actuators/panels/monitors/screens
  • General site clearance
  • New ladders / gates / flooring
  • Repair tanks / walls
  • Heat trace and lag pipework
  • Provide task lighting

WwTW Base Maintenance

Value: £6m

​Base Maintenance consists of the improvement/replacement of individual elements in the South Region of NI Water across various Wastewater Treatment Work (WwTW) sites. The scope of the works is to plan, program and coordinate the exchange of m&e equipment and associated instrumentation throughout the region.

The existing treatment works are fully operational, and will remain so throughout most of the detailed design and construction phase.
